THE SHAMER'S DAUGHTER II: THE SERPENT GIFT

Drakan is planning to invade the Highlands and will destroy any chance of a respectable and independent life both in the Highlands and in the villages. Dina, Nico and the family live a dangerous nomadic life. Dina meets a mysterious stranger - her father, Sezuan, but when Davin and Nico are imprisoned at the dreaded Sagisburg, Dina is forced to embark on a perilous journey with Sezuan to free them. Sezuan is a Blackmaster with the power to make people see illusions; Dina discovers that she possesses his abilities on top of her own supernatural abilities.

This is the second opus of the franchise based on Lene Kaaberbøl’s bestselling fantasy book series.

I had the pleasure to grade this fantasy adventure together with director Ask Hasselbalch and DoP Niels Reedtz Johansen. The movie is shot in the Czech Republic and includes stunning woodland scenery, mighty castles, lakes, fiery dungeons and more! There were quite a lot of VFX too, including an amazing bad-ass looking sea serpent done by Storm Studios.

The main keywords throughout the grade were classic adventure / fantasy movies with earthy, filmic hues. The Danish cinema premiere is January 2019.
