Fightgirl is a mix between an experimental short film and a music video.
A young, angry girl fights herself and her inner demons.
The battle manifests itself in to dancing where she can ventilate her aggression, and in turn find piece of mind.
I was happy to work with directors Nina Knag & Ina Lerner Grevstad on this experimental project.
They wrote down some thoughts concerning the emotion of the character, which I used to grade a "first pass".
The final grading session was done together with Nina Knag.
These type of films are often open for interpretation, but I think we managed to find an interesting
palette for this small universe. We embraced strong, vibrant colours, that had impact.
Great dancing and a happy dog too B.)
Since the film was shot on a Canon 7D @ 720p, I had to "help" the raw-footage a bit before grading.
So it went through the usual denoise and upscaling process I use. I also added some 16mm film-grain from
the Cinegrain-library to add an analogue touch to the final piece.
