Director Christian F. Schüssler is back with another energetic music video. This time he has created a punchy piece for Broiler.
The video was shot by DOP Espen Olsen featuring loverly anamorphic images. I simply LOVE the artifacts that the Kowa Anamorphic lenses give,
they add something really special to the images.

Broiler (aka DJ Broiler) are a very popular duo here in Norway. They have had several hit-singles on the Norwegian charts.
Broiler have changed their musical style somewhat, and are now concentrating on making commercial electronic music for the dance-floor,
in the vein of David Guetta and Avicii.

The director and DOP wanted a vibrant look, where the club scenes were warm and punchy
and the other storylines had a colder complimentary colour-contrast.
After some initial look-creation on key-shots, we found where we wanted to take different things and went all-in!

I did the grade in my trusty weapon of choice, DaVinci Resolve 11. The grade involved quite a bit of tracking to isolate people
in the foreground from the colder cyan coloured backgrounds. Resolve never let me down.
The flexible motion-tracker and improved keying tools helped a lot during qualifying some of the more difficult keys.
I graded on a pre-conformed 10bit dpx sequence (RedColor3 / RedLogFilm), which gave all I needed to get the job done.
Usually I like grading directly on the RED-RAW-files, but due to the tight deadline, a pre-conformed sequence saved precious time.

Enough nerdy talk.

Turn up the volume and grasp the sun!
